This post is a couple months overdue ... I'm motivated by projects, not necessarily about documenting them and loading pictures onto our computer...
This winter we put 'formal' paneling in our dining room. Heidi wanted to carry the 'formal' look into our entryway - up the stairs. I was skeptical at first, but now that it's finished ... it was a great idea.
I failed to take before pictures ... so just imagine the wall with no paneling and you'll have a pretty good idea.
From the entryway...
From the top of the stairs...
Joints wreak havoc anytime you paint trim/woodwork white... no matter how precise the cuts ... the joints will stick out as though you've intentionally traced over them with a black sharpie. Picture below shows joints for 5 different pieces of trim ... I took this picture after an application of woodfiller (first of two applications)...
Same picture after sanding and painting ... what joints?!
Of the projects we've done, definitely ranks near the top with respect to visual impact. And the best part, it didn't take much time and was super cheap! A project for anyone with patience, a miter saw and $150!
The phrase that amazes me most from this post is, "I'm motivated by projects."
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I forgot to check out the new closet when I was at your house! Next time....
